Drilling a chipboard top requires a little care to prevent it from splintering or tearing out when drilling.

🎯 Mark the place to be drilled
Make a small mark with a pencil, then give it a little tap with a pin (or nail) to prevent the bit from slipping initially.

🩹 Stick tape on the area to be drilled
This helps prevent the laminate from splintering as the bit grips the surface.

🔎 Place a mark on your wick
Take a mark on the edge of the board to check the depth of your drilling and surround your drill bit with colored adhesive at this point.

🐌 Drill gently, without forcing
Place your tabletop flat and the drill straight up. Start at a slow speed , especially at the beginning, to cut through the laminate cleanly. When you reach the adhesive, withdraw the drill bit while maintaining the slow speed.
